Black Beans 5 Gallon Life Latch® Screw Top Pail - 32 lb. (14.51 kg) (limit of 1)
We are now offering dried beans from Italy! Our dried beans are grown on organic Italian family farms without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. We also test the beans for pesticides, including glyphosate, the most widely used pesticide on the planet, and our samples came back with no trace found.
Beans are a great source of protein that can be stored indefinitely when properly done. Our bulk options include airtight 5 Kg. bags with all of the oxygen removed, a 15 lb. pouch, and 5 Gallon Life Latch® Screw Top Pails that have moisture resistant, airtight seals that will protect your stored beans for many years to come. These can be stored in a cool, dry, dark place for many, many years.
Our dried beans are:
- Grown traditionally on a small farm
- Glyphosate-tested and no trace found in our sample
- Can be stored indefinitely when properly stored
Beans can be prepared in many different ways, but if you plan to cook them on the stovetop, they most always benefit from a long soak before cooking and even a short soak is beneficial.
To long soak beans, simply put them in a container with a lid and add enough water to cover the beans by 2 inches. Add 2 tablespoons of salt per pound of beans and soak at least 4 hours or as long as overnight. Drain the beans before cooking.
To short soak, add the beans and salt to a pot with a lid, add water to cover the beans by 2 inches. Bring the beans to a boil and then remove from the heat and soak for an hour. Drain the beans before cooking.
If using a slow cooker or pressure cooker to prepare your beans then skip the soaking process and jump right into cooking!
Beans are a great addition to soups, chilies, casseroles and many other dishes.
