How Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Lotions are Different

We believe, and many customers have also told us, that these are some of the finest moisturizing lotions on the market. And yet they are priced well below designer brands, most of which are made with lesser ingredients, and contain preservatives and other toxins.

It all starts with the oils that are used as the base.

All of the Moisturizing Lotions that Tropical Traditions offers are made with Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil and Virgin Palm Oil, providing these moisturizing lotions with some of the highest levels of antioxidants of any other moisturizing lotions currently available.

It is highly unlikely that any other products on the market are made with finer oils as their base. Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is traditionally made from fresh organic coconuts using the wet-milling process, and independent laboratory tests show that it has a higher level of antioxidants than other coconut oils.

Virgin Palm Oil contains high concentrations of a powerful form of Vitamin E called “tocotrienols” which published research has shown is 40–60 times more potent than alpha-tocopherol, the most common form of Vitamin E found as an additive in most skin care products, and usually derived from soybean oil.

In addition to these powerful Vitamin E tocotrienols, Virgin Palm Oil is also rich in natural carotenes. It is one of the richest natural plant sources of carotenes with concentrations of 500–700 ppm. It is 15 times more retinol-equivalent than carrots and 300 times more than tomatoes, for example.

These fine moisturizing lotions are made by hand in small batches, and are not mass-produced.

Note: Shipping during the hot summer months may turn your "lotions" into liquid, because of the high quality oils we use with no added stabilizers or other fillers. If that happens, shake the bottle well to mix all the oils back in together, and then put into your refrigerator for a couple of hours until the consistency returns to a lotion. Then shake again well before using. 

 
Other Ingredients

In addition to using only the best oils available for the skin, all other ingredients used in Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Lotions are 100% natural.
Our hand-made lotions contain no alcohols, no artificial fragrances, and no petroleum products.

Because we recognize that many have sensitivities to fragrances, we offer an unscented version.

For the varieties that are scented, we only use high quality organic essential oils imported from France which are distilled with low temperature and low pressure over an extended period of time. Low temperature and lower pressure have proven to be the most effective method of obtaining all of the essential constituents from the plant, and provide our products with the very best quality fragrances available.

We are also the exclusive distributer of these fine essential oils in the United States.

We also test our ingredients for the herbicide glyphosate to prevent agricultural chemicals used in herbicides and pesticides from getting into our skin care products.

Available Varieties

Lavender

Soothes the skin. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic essential oil of lavender.

Unscented

Contains no essential oils for people with allergies or sensitivities to scents. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, and virgin palm oil.

Arnica

A blend of essential oils for moisturizing skin and massaging muscles. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, organic macerated arnica oil, and organic essential oils of wintergreen, peppermint, clove, helichrysum, and spruce.

Peppermint

Invigorating and stimulating the skin. Superb for a foot massage. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic essential oil of peppermint.

Citrus

Provides fresh, clean, uplifting and revitalizing effect to the skin. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic essential oils of orange, mandarin, spearmint, lemon, grapefruit, lemongrass, and tangerine.

Baby Silk

Contains a blend of essential oils that may promote the appearance of new skin. Beneficial overnight cream. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, organic virgin palm oil, and organic essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang, geranium, roman chamomile, and rose.

Coconut

Tropical bliss! Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic coconut oil flavor.

Vanilla

Subtle vanilla scent. Ingredients: purified water, organic virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba, emulsifying wax (plant based, no soy), grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic vanilla extract in coconut oil.
