How Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Creams are Different
We believe, and many customers have also told us, that these are some of the finest moisturizing creams on the market. And yet they are priced well below designer brands, most of which are made with lesser ingredients, and contain preservatives and other toxins.
It all starts with the oils that are used as the base.
All of the Moisturizing Creams that Tropical Traditions offers are made with our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil and Virgin Palm Oil, providing these moisturizing creams with some of the highest levels of antioxidants of any other moisturizing creams currently available.
It is highly unlikely that any other products on the market are made with finer oils as their base.Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is traditionally made from fresh coconuts using the wet-milling process, and independent laboratory tests show that it has a higher level of antioxidants than other coconut oils.
Virgin Palm Oil contains high concentrations of a powerful form of Vitamin E called “tocotrienols” which published research has shown is 40–60 times more potent than alpha-tocopherol, the most common form of Vitamin E found as an additive in most skin care products, and usually derived from soybean oil.
In addition to these powerful Vitamin E tocotrienols, Virgin Palm Oil is also rich in natural carotenes. It is one of the richest natural plant sources of carotenes with concentrations of 500–700 ppm. It is 15 times more retinol-equivalent than carrots and 300 times more than tomatoes, for example.
These fine moisturizing creams are made by hand in small batches, and are not mass-produced.
Other Ingredients
In addition to using only the best oils available for the skin, all other ingredients used in Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Creams are 100% natural.
Our hand-made creams contain no alcohols, no artificial fragrances, and no petroleum products.
Because we recognize that many have sensitivities to fragrances, we also have an unscented version.
For those varieties that are scented, we only use high quality organic essential oils imported from France which are distilled with low temperature and low pressure over an extended period of time. Low temperature and lower pressure have proven to be the most effective method of obtaining all of the essential constituents from the plant, and provide our products with the very best quality fragrances available.

I've tried many different natural lotions and creams in search of a product that's healthy, and also works for my oily and sometimes chaffed skin from working outside in the yard. This cream is fantastic, and is now the only one I use. I use it on my face at night, which seems counterintuitive to having oily skin, but it's made my face more hydrated and soft, and less oily. I also apply it to my body every morning after my shower. It doesn't leave a residue and absorbs quickly. The cream also removes (even waterproof) makeup gently and quickly when used on a cotton pad (the Tropical Traditions liquid soap works equally as well for this.) To date, I've purchased a handful of the scents. Currently, coconut and bergamot & orange are my favorites. I was hoping that sandalwood would have more of a sandalwood prominence, but it leans more toward ylang ylang. Nonetheless, that's a personal scent preference. The cream itself is still incredible. If you have sandalwood essential oil, you can modify it to your liking, which is what I did. All is well. Additionally, I recently tried a new deodorant that was "natural" but still had ingredients that gave me a serious reaction. It left me with extremely itchy, painful, and weeping burns under each armpit, discoloring my skin to several shades darker than my natural color. After a few days of trying burn salves that didn't soothe my skin at all, I decided to slather my underarms with this moisturizing cream. Without exaggerating, I noticed relief overnight. The itching subsided and the weeping stopped. Over the course of about a week, my skin healed and the color underneath my armpits returned to normal. I am extremely grateful! I very highly recommend this cream!
