Kale is a leafy green cruciferous vegetable in the Brassicaceae family, which also contains cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts and more. Kale is very rich in Vitamin K, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C and contains many other macro and micro nutrients our bodies need for good health. It is also high in antioxidants and fiber, helping to make it a very nutrient dense food.
Our kale is hand-picked on a small family farm in western Wisconsin that is Certified Organic. In addition, we also tested the kale for glyphosate and none was detected in our sample.
These Kale Chips are one single ingredient, Organic Kale. Once picked, the kale is dehydrated on the same family farm, where care is taken to make sure the nutrients are preserved.
These Kale Chips are great for a snack as they are, or can be drizzled with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and sprinkled with salt, for a more savory snack. They make great additions to salads, smoothies and soups as well!
When Healthy Traditions began to look at producing products in the U.S. from traditional sources, food that tested clean from GMOs, glyphosate, and other herbicides and pesticides, we were faced with a dilemma:
How do we package these high quality clean foods?
We began a search for packaging that did not contain harmful chemicals and was not harmful to the environment. What good is sourcing and selling high quality traditional food if it is going to be contaminated by the packaging?
The brown bags you see in our newest products, including our popcorn, reflect what we found was currently the best option for packaging our high-quality line of traditional products.
These bags harmlessly decompose anywhere that microbes are present (salt and fresh water, soil, landfills or in a backyard compost).
They decompose into organic matter without leaving any pollutants behind. (Independent Lab tests show - "None Detected.")
They have been lab tested for possible leaching of many heavy metals and pollutants, and none were found.

Instead of buying kale (or most vegetables these days as I question what’s been done to them), at the store, I sprinkle in some Kale Chips and find it’s a great addition to my dish as they rehydrate and expand. Plus I know I can trust the source.

Some I have tried from other companies have had a more fibrous consistency. So if the remaining bags are the same, I will order again.
A great way to use kale. I love the taste plain out of the bag, and am experimenting with putting in salads with olive oil. The kale chips have a delicate, crunchy texture. I love to make salads and adding some of these chips is such a convenient way to get the nutritional benefits of kale. Even with the vinegar and oil poured over them, they do not lose their delightful, soft little crunch. I also tried adding them to a rice dish I made for us the other night, delicious! Thank you, Healthy Traditions, for another wonderful product!
