Our NEW Cornbread Mix starts with open pollinated, heirloom corn that is raised organically in Central Mexico, where corn is thought to have originated! By using this excellent quality corn in a convenient, easy to use mix, you can now have great tasting, authentic cornbread, without having to settle for inferior ingredients.
Our Cornbread Mix is made with simple ingredients that are glyphosate tested and no grains with gluten are added in. The corn from Mexico is tested for both GMO and glyphosate contamination, so you can rest assured this may be the cleanest corn in the United States! The corn is milled just before packaging your mix, so you won’t find a fresher cornbread mix on the market.
Since we don’t add questionable ingredients like buttermilk powder or dehydrated egg material, to complete your cornbread you will need to provide the fresh ingredients like milk or other liquid, eggs or a substitute, and your oil of choice. Complete instructions are included to help you bake up a great tasting cake of cornbread.
Ingredients: Organic White Corn, Organic Baking Powder (Cornstarch, Monocalcium Phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Himalayan Pink Salt
Cornbread Mix Directions
- 1 package Cornbread Mix
- 1 ¼ cups milk or alternative
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten or substitute
- 1/3 cup oil of choice
- 3 tablespoons of butter or alternative
Preheat oven to 400F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Place dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Combine the milk, eggs, oil and butter in a small bowl and mix well. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir just until blended. Pour the mixture into the baking pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
For cornbread muffins, spoon the batter into muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans.
When Healthy Traditions began to look at producing products in the U.S. from traditional sources, food that tested clean from GMOs, glyphosate, and other herbicides and pesticides, we were faced with a dilemma:
How do we package these high quality clean foods?
We began a search for packaging that did not contain harmful chemicals and was not harmful to the environment. What good is sourcing and selling high quality traditional food if it is going to be contaminated by the packaging?
The brown bags you see in our newest products, including our Cornbread Mix, reflect what we found was currently the best option for packaging our high-quality line of traditional products.
These bags harmlessly decompose anywhere that microbes are present (salt and fresh water, soil, landfills or in a backyard compost).
They decompose into organic matter without leaving any pollutants behind. (Independent Lab tests show - "None Detected.")
They have been lab tested for possible leaching of many heavy metals and pollutants, and none were found.

I prefer unsweetened cornbread. This mix is the best that I have ever tried. I will continue to order it. I love the fact that it has healthy, wholesome ingredients not to be found in any other commercial mix available in my area. Thank you for getting this recipe packaged. Just one more of Healthy Traditions outstanding products!
I just love there foam hand soap as it doesn’t dry my skin out. The oats are delicious! The essential oils are WONDERFUL!
Excellent with butter. My family loves these
Got it recently & used to make tamale pie. Came out well & my husband liked. I did add 3 Tbsp. of honey. I would add even more honey or another sweetener if I was using it to make cornmeal muffins or cornbread. I will buy it again.
